Bryan’s Bees is owned and operated by Bryan Castro. In 2008 he attended California State University Channel Islands where he studied entomology and ecology, while working in the California State University Channel Islands Pollination Ecology Lab. It was there that he fell in love with honey bees and beekeeping. In 2012, Bryan bought his first five packages of bees, and Bryan’s Bees was born. After ending his internship at CSUCI he worked at Associate's Insectary raising beneficial insects, Jubilee Honey Company as a commercial beekeeper, and Terminix as a pest control technician. In April of 2015 Bryan began working for Bryan's Bees full time. Spring of 2017 Bryan began working with other local beekeepers which allowed him to expand into Kern and LA counties. In 2019 Bryan's Bees expanded into Lewis County, Washington for honey production, queen rearing from Portland Oregon to Seattle.
Colin is the Regional Field Manager for Southern California. He has been with Bryan's Bees since 2018. He has shown his mettle as a live bee removal technician and stepped up as a leader in 2019. His initiative and dedication are unparalleled.
Matt joined our team in 2020, and quickly became one of our best bee removal specialists. He is also a licensed HVAC tech, and does great work.
Lyndsay is the Bryan's Bees office manager, and has been working with Bryan since they met at California State University Channel Islands their freshman year. She has a BA in Performing Arts and has worked with children, professionally, in several capacities in the past. Because of this, she not only runs the office, but is also in charge of our education outreach and volunteer events. Bryan and Lyndsay are a team not just within Bryan's Bees, but in life as well. They have been together for many years and in 2019, they welcomed a son.
